Floyd A. LaBarre, 88, a native of Grand Bayou, La., and resident of Napoleon-ville, La., died Sunday, July 12, 2015.

Mr. LaBarre was a Korean War veteran. He oversaw the Exxon distributorship until his father’s death, at which time he became managing partner of LaBarre properties. He served with the Assumption Parish government. He was also instrumental in the establishment of Bayou Lafourche Academy.

He is survived by his brother, Gustave J. LaBarre II; sisters, Marlene Folse and Augusta Riffert; daughters,


Laurette (John) Simmons, Janelle Pfister, Lisa (Chuck) Borne and Renee (Huey) Simoneaux; son, Floyd A. LaBarre II; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
