Gerald Salvador Valure, age 75, passed away surrounded by his loving family at Terrebonne General Medical Center Monday, Oct. 8, 2018. He was a longtime resident of Houma.

Gerald is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Martha Fuchs Valure; daughters, Melissa Valure Jones and Leslie Valure Flynn and husband, Steven; grandchildren, Anthony Jones and wife, Lindsay, Avery Jones, Jason Gasper, and Joshua and Joseph Flynn; great-grandchildren, Blakelyn and Brielle Jones; and brothers, Barry and Brad Valure. He is also survived by his cocker spaniel, Henry.


Gerald was a loving husband, father and grandfather and very well-liked and respected in the community. He worked in the medical field with over 50 years of experience. Gerald and his wife Martha volunteered for many years with St. Vincent DePaul Society at St. Bernadette Catholic Church. He was also a certified scuba diver, certified pilot and ham radio operator. Gerald had a special place in his heart for God. He was a longtime parishioner of St. Bernadette Catholic Church and served as an acolyte and very active in the church. He now rests in the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
