Gillis Plaisance, 83, a native of Cut Off, La., and resident of Galliano, La., died on Sunday, February 12, 2017.
Mr. Plaissance served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, enjoyed the outdoors and loved to trawl and fish. He was a retired boat captain.
He is survived by his children, Rebecca, Yvette, James and Ann Plaisance; brothers, Norman and Simon Plaisance; and sisters, Rose Lee and Ethel Smith.
Burial is at Cheramie Cemetery in Galliano.
