Goldie Margaret Blanchard Roddy, 78, a native of Napoleonville and resident of Houma, La., died Monday, June 1, 2015.

Mrs. Roddy was a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend to the many people she knew and worked with through her many years in her banking career. She worked at Terrebonne Bank, Progressive Bank, Chase Manhattan Bank in New York City and finally at South LA Bank.

She loved cooking, gardening and playing Scrabble with her family and friends. She was always “feeding” her children’s friends as they were all growing up and her home was always full of teenagers and she enjoyed having them all over at any time.

Mrs. Roddy is survived by her sons, Rodney Paul Roddy and Philip James (Mona) Roddy; daughter, Cynthia Roddy (Chris) Naquin; brother, Charles J. Blanchard, Jr.; sisters, Alice Pellegrin, Jane Bergeron, and Kate Repp; 10 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
