New Data Show Workplace Challenges Exist After a Cancer Diagnosis

Gurvis “Go” Paul Blanchard, age 90, passed away surrounded by his loving family at 10:09 p.m. on Wednesday, December 5, 2018. He was a native and resident of Chauvin. LA

Gurvis is survived by his wife of 62 years, Janise Anne Dupre Blanchard; daughter, Althea B. Parks and husband, Terry; sisters, Ena B. Savoie and Lucy B. Chauvin; and grandsons, Cody D. Parks and Brent J. Parks.


Go was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He was a boat captain. He was a member of the Ward 7 Citizens Club and the Chauvin Senior Center. He worked at the Lagniappe on the Bayou Fair many years. He enjoyed playing bingo and pokeno, fishing, and working in the yard. Gurvis was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
