Local social workers celebrated for service

Helen L. “Mom” Soudelier, 92, a native of Chauvin, La., and resident of Houma, La., died at 4:35 p.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2017.
Mrs. Soudelier was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. She was secretary for the Senior Bowling League, and she enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing and spending time with family.
She is survived by her children, Christine, Dorothy and Marue Soudelier, Patsy (Gary) Chauvin; adopted daughters, Cathy Cambre, Odette Barrios and Juanita Sonnier; siblings, Chester and Charlie LeCompte and Bobbie Breaux; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Burial is at Port Hudson National Cemetery in Zachary.
