The tropics have been quiet lately.

But no, hurricane season is not over.

Hurricane season lasts through November and though history shows that major storms are unlike once we get into mid-October, there is still a chance for storm threats through the rest of the seaaon. Retired weatherman Bob Breck. with Fox-8 wrote in his blog recently that the season is slowly, but he will not yet “call the Fat Lady” to sing its completion until cold fronts become sinking into our area.

Fronts serve a& a shield to storms They cool Gulf waters, firstly, then secondly, they block them from land areas, which means that future storms would likely curve off into the Atlantic.
