Irby Joseph “Bubby” Bergeron Sr., 78, a native of New Orleans and resident of Houma, passed away at 6 p.m. on Thursday, December 13, 2018.

Mr. Irby is survived by his wife of 59 years, Betty Foret Bergeron; sons, Mark Irby Jr and wife, Lisa, and Craig and wife, Stasia Bergeron; daughters, Tracy and husband, Lloyd Guidry Jr., and Stacy Bergeron and fiance’, John Matherne; brothers, Michael and wife, Christine, and Chris and wife, Virginia Bergeron; sisters, Delores Domangue, and Charlene and husband, Brent Labat; grandchildren, Brad and wife, Shelly, Dexter, Scott and Payton Bergeron, Tyler and Mason Zeringue, Hanna Whitney, Madison Zeringue, Lexi Guidry, Leah Bergeron, and Holli and husband, and C.J. Cunningham; and alsofive great-grandchildren.

He was a welder for J. Ray McDermott for many years and enjoyed fishing, bowling and being with family and friends. He was a member of the NRA and Army National Guard Reserve and a parishoner of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Church. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.


The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Dr. Russell Henry, Staff of AMG and CCU nurses at Terrebonne General for the excellent care given to Mr. Irby.
