James “Melvin” O’Gwynn, 78, a native of Poplarville, Miss., and resident of Gheens, La., died Sunday, Sept. 20, 2015.

Visitation is today from 6 to 9 p.m. and 8 to 11 a.m. tomorrow at Falgout Funeral Home in Raceland. Burial is at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Holy Savior Cemetery in Lockport.


Mr. O’Gwynn is survived by his wife, Nell Dominique O’Gwynn; sons, Mark (Rae), Brad (Gail), Michael Sr. (Penny) and Carl (Melanie) O’Gwynn; brother, William (Jackie) O’Gwynn; sisters, Audrey (Buddy) Sellers and Carolyn Anderson; 9 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
