James Williams Jr., 69, passed away surrounded by his family July 19, 2018. He was a native of New Orleans, Louisiana and resident of Houma, LA.

James is survived by his loving wife of forty years, Terry Williams; children, Cacynda M. Williams, Monnie Ann Tovar (Omar), Landa Williams, Miranda Williams and James “Bookie” Williams Sr. (Sandy); seventeen grandchildren, John Kevin, Emile Jr., Amanda, Casey, Kaitlyn, Tyler, Mekayla, Khialyn, Andrea, Kelsee, Alexis, Breanha, Omar Jr., Jasmine, Jalen, James Jr. and Kaden; six great-grandchildren; mother, Gloria Dardar Williams; sisters, Rita Mae Billiot (Perry) and Betty Carbo (Jerry); brothers, Clarence Billiot (Evelyn), Roland Williams and David Williams (Maria); and cousin and best friends, Jerry and Gail Dardar. James is also survived by many loving and numerous nieces and nephews.


James was preceded in death by his father, James Williams Sr.; brothers, Gene Thibodaux, Thomas Williams, Herman Williams and Charles Williams; sister, Mary Trosclair; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Williams.

James is a veteran of the United States Army and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. James loved to shrimp on his favorite trawling boats, “The Runaway Child”, “Terry James”, and “Lady Terry.” He enjoyed playing card games with his family and never missed a game of Pedro; set Gail back, make her fuss.

James was a kind and generous person and he never met a stranger. He loved family gatherings and being surrounded by his family. He touched many people’s hearts and lives throughout his life.


The family would like to thank the staff and TGMC and Amedysis Home Health, Fresenius Dialysis Clinic and Acadian Ambulance. His memory will live on in the hearts of all those he loved and met. He will never be forgotten and always loved.
