Popular Houma restaurant ravaged by flames

Joseph “J.B.” Breaux, 78, of Houma, La., died on Sunday, December 25, 2016.


Mr. Breaux was a self-employed entrepreneur, owning businesses such as Breaux’s Exxon, J.B. and Barbara’s Frost Top and two convenience stores. He served 16 years on the Terrebonne Parish Council, including three as council chairman. He was also a member of the Louisiana Police Jury Association, American Red Cross, TARC and the East Park Volunteer Fire Company.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Barbara LeCompte Breaux; son, Erenst (Joanna) Breaux; daughters, Elizabeth (Francis) LeMoine and Pattie (Dale) Bergeron; sister, Bonnie (John) Blanchard; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Burial is at Holy Rosary Catholic Church Cemetery in Houma.
