Joseph E. Toups Jr., a native and lifelong resident of the Raceland, La., died on Wednesday Aug. 5, 2015.
Always known as a fun loving jokester, Mr. Toups was a true friend to everyone he met. He was a retired mechanic who loved to repair and restore anything from truck and tractor engines to generators to antique church bells. He was the handy man’s handy man.
Mr. Toups is survived by his children, Michael Toups, Paul (Peggy Thiac) Toups, Melanie Toups and Deborah Thompson; four grandchildren; and brother Louis (Ida) Toups.
Burial is at Boromeo Church Cemetery in St. Charles.
