Joyce Poiencot, 89, a native of Chauvin and resident of Houma, died on Friday, January 12, 2018.

Mrs. Poiencot is survived by her sons, Lloyd Poiencot and wife Annette, Donald Poiencot and wife Sherrie, and Timmy Poiencot; daughter, Rhonda Postlethwait and husband Dave; grandchildren, Benji, Casey, Corey, Trevor, Lacy Poiencot, and Mark Postlethwait; great-grandchildren, Cody, Hunter Anthony, Hunter Joseph, Emily, Claire, Austin, and Dylan Poiencot; brother, Alexander Dupre, Jr.; sisters, Rita Mae Kraemer, and Elizabeth “Betty” Dupre.


She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Joyce was kind, loving, generous, caring, and loved her Catholic faith. Joyce was blessed with a beautiful family. She enjoyed family gatherings, especially cooking at Christmas time. She was a talented cook, and baker, especially making peanut butter fudge and sending them out to everyone. She is preceded in death by her sister-in-law which was her best friend, Margie Dupre. Joyce is now reunited with her beloved husband of 51 years and they now rest in the arms of their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
