Junius “Nokee” Marcel, 84, a native of Bayou Blue, La., and resident of Houma, La., died Monday, March 23, 2015.


Mr. Marcel was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He was a hard worker, always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone. He enjoyed dancing with his wife, camping, hunting, fishing and family gatherings.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Beverly Duplantis Marcel; children, Michael (Paulette) Marcel, Darlene (Larry) Freeman and Jody (Linda) Marcel; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and sister: Virtrine Daigle.

Burial is at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Cemetery.
