Kenneth “Matt” Matherne, 79, a resident of Bourg, La., died Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2015.
Mr. Matherne was a former Lafourche Parish councilman who served numerous terms. He was a member of Bayou Blue United Methodist Church, veteran of the U.S. National Guard, owner and operator of MATCO in Thibodaux, La. and charter boat captain of “Captain Matt.”
Mr. Matherne is survived by his companion, Anita “Peggy” Aguilar; daughters, Pamela (Darrin) Guidry, Nicole (Jeffrey) Dufrene and Connie (Robbie) Marcel; sons, Kenneth “Kenny” Jr., Keith “Aaron” and Shane (Elene) Matherne; brother, Don (Consuelo “Connie”) Matherne; sister, Sue Ellen (Lloyd) Olin; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Burial is at Rogers-Matherne Cemetery in Houma, La.
