The Lafourche Parish School Board elected Julie Breaux president for the coming year.


“I am honored for the vote of confidence,” she said. “I hope we can continue voting and securing a high-quality education system in Lafourche Parish.”

After swearing in newly elected members Brooke Huddleston, Ronald Pere and Ann Sanamo, the board’s first measure of business was electing its officers.

Breaux previously served as the board’s vice president.


Assuming the vice president role is Louis Thibodaux. He has served on the board since 1998.

A1 Archer, Pere and Sanamo were elected to the board’s advisory committee.
