Lawrence Jessie Pellegrin Sr., 91, died peacefully on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019. He was a native and proud resident of Chauvin, Louisiana.
He is survived by his three children, Debbie Hubbard and husband Neal, Jay Pellegrin and wife Alisha, and Jesslyn Ledet and husband Craig; grandchildren, Aimee Toups, Summer Pellegrin, Christian Ledet, Rebecca Ledet, and Chloe Pellegrin; great grandchildren, Jamie Hubbard and Eli Pellegrin; siblings, Claude Pellegrin, Carol LeBoeuf, JoAnn Donovan, Merlin Pellegrin, Clark Pellegrin and Dean Pellegrin.
A proud World War II veteran, he served his country in the U.S. Naval Service and Coast Guard. He was a fifth-degree knight in the Knights of Columbus, a member of the United Veterans League, VFW, and the American Legion. He was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Jessie was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He loved his family, his country, cooking and dancing. His legacy will be the lessons of hard work and service he taught through helping others and making a difference in the community.
