There’s always something happening at your local library!


In September, the Lafourche Parish library system will host a fine free, fine forgiveness program. They will forgive outstanding fines in any amount for overdue, damaged or lost items in September in exchange fix “varying amounts of donated nonperishable or Pet supplies. Fines associated with laptops, electronics, or video games are excluded Any person who owes money to the library for anything except excluded items can bring in items according to a suggested donation schedule to clear their library record and once again enjoy library services. The library will also for-fines for any overdue news (except excluded items) returned in good condition, in September. Donated items will benefit local organizations.

CELEBRATE GRANDPARENTS’ DAY AT THE LIBRARY: ALL EVENTS ARE FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.


• Bayou Blue: Enjoy a Grandparents ‘ Day-themed story hour and craft at 4 p.m. on September 7. Create a unique hand painting for your grandparents. All supplies provided.

• Choctaw: Children ages -1 to 11 can celebrate Grandparents’ Day by designing and painting a wooden picture picture for their grandparents at 430 p.m. on September 6. Registration is required to attend, so sign up at the library.

• Gheens: Create a special “I Lave You to Pieces” craft plate keepsake in celebration of Grandparents’ Day at 4:30 p.m. on September 5.


• Golden Meadow. Children, their grandparents, and other family members can enjoy a “We Love Our Grandparents” story hour at 4:15 p.m. on September 5.

• Larose: Jon staff for a special “Grandparents” story hour at 1 p.m. on September 8 in celebration off Grandparents’ Day.

• Lockport: Grandchildren and their grandparents are invited to a special Grandparents’ Day celebration at 2 p.m. on September 1. Grandchildren will make a keepsake craft for their grandparents to take home.


• Raceland: The Raceland Branch library will host a story hour in celebration of Grandparents’ Day at 11 a.m. on September 4.

• South. Lafourche: Children, their families, and grandparents are invited to a special grandpar ente-themed story hour at 10:30 a.m. on September 4.

• Thibodaux: Children ages 4 to 7 can create an plaque honoring their grandparents at a craft program in celebration of Grandparents’ Day at 4 p.m. on September 6, Registration is required, so sing up at the library.


GET FIT AT THE LIBRARY TO: CELEBRATE FAMILY HEALTH AND FITNESS MONTH.

• Bayou Blue: Families are encouraged to stop by at 4:30 pm on September 28 to take part in physical fitness activities in celebration of Family Health and Fitness Month.

• Gheens: Have fun and get fit with the family at 4:30 p.m on September 7 and September 28.


• Laroee: Get moving to get fit at 1 pm OIL September 27 during the library’s ‘Let’s Get Physical’ story hour in celebration of Family Health and Fitness Month.

• Lockport: Bring true family to a fun. energetic Zumba workout led by an instructor from the Workout Company in Raceland at 5 p.m on September 6

• Raceland: Celebrate Family Health and Fitness Month and blast some calories with a family cardio workout at 4 p.m. on September 26.


• Thibodaux: Families can have fun getting fit at the library with family bawling, hilltops. and curve-a-beams at 2 pm, on September 29.
