Leland Luke Babin, 86, a native and resident of Houma, La., died at 5:40 a.m. Wednesday, March 18.

Mr. Babin was a member of First Assembly of God in Houma. He honorably served in the U.S. Navy during WWII as a third motor machinist’s mate. He was an avid fisherman and sportsman with plenty of stories to share. He retired from the oil field service industry after 40 years’ service.


He is survived by his sons, Ricky Babin and Ronnie (Karry) Babin; daughter, Robin Babin; brother, Lester Babin; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Burial is at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Cemetery.
