Lloyd “Petch” J. Crochet, 89, passed away on April 21, 2018 at 9:27 p.m. Lloyd was a native of Montegut, La. and a resident of Houma, La.


Lloyd is survived by his daughters, Janice Robichaux and Larry of Biloxi, Ms.; Rhondalyn Caro of Houma; Connie Crochet and Floyd of Houma and Laurell Couvillier and husband Charles of Houma; and Karen Breaux, and husband Thomas of Houma; brothers, Floyd Crochet of Pointe-Aux-Chenes, La. And Junius Crochet and wife Esther of Ruston, La.; sister, Helen LeBouef; grandchildren, Chad Robichaux, Tanya LeBoeuf, April Hargroves, Andrea Vance, Anita Schultz, Alisha Butler, Angelle CaroThibodeaux, Cherise Caro Runnels, Brittany Landry and Lauren Breaux; 11 great grandchildren and one intended; 1 step-grandchild and 2 step great grandchildren.

Lloyd was the proprietor of Lloyd J. Crochet Towing. He was a member of the American Legion, Usher at Holy Rosary Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Lloyd, a World War II Veteran, was a strong-willed self-educated and successful businessman. His love to be on the water guided him to start Crochet Towing where he owned and worked on boats for several years. He was a devoted philanthropist and will be remembered for his loving, loyal and giving spirit. Lloyd was an avid invester and a champion at playing cards with his family and friends.


Lloyd’s prevailing love for Christ lived through his actions and he passed on that enduring faith to his children and grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by his loved ones who celebrate the fact that he is at peace with his creator.

Lloyd will be fondly remembered as a family man who loved to spend time with his daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was known for his perseverance and remained brave and determined even through his final days.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Smile Train, Boys Town or to Funeral Masses at Holy Rosary Catholic Church
