Houma native and LSU College of Science senior Colleen Robichaux received the Astronaut Foundation Scholarship, one of the most significant scholarships given to undergrads majoring in science, technology, engineering and math or STEM.


In all, 38 Astronaut Scholarship Foundation were given throughout the U.S. The scholarship is designed to encourage students to pursue advanced education and careers in STEM fields. Recipients are chosen based on initiative, creativity and academic achievement.

“With this honor, I hope to continue researching to make new and exciting discoveries,” the math major said.

Robichaux is investigating the K-Knuth equivalence of increasing tableaux. After graduation, she intends to pursue a doctorate at Linnaeus University in Sweden.
