Two local fishing pros finished in the Top 15 at a tournament from Aug. 13-15 in Hitchcock, Texas.

Paul Dufrene and Lance Reynolds, both South Lafourche High School graduates and members of the Yellowfin Elite Series, finished 11th and 13th place, respectively, in the tournament, which is part of the year-long tour series.

Both Dufrene and Reynolds have won events on the tour, so the Top 15 finishes aren’t their best efforts.

Reynolds bagged 36.06 pounds during the event, but only 35.31 pounds were able to be weighed because of penalties he sustained for weighing a dead fish.

Dufrene came in slightly ahead of his good friend, catching six fish at 37.07 pounds.

Dufrene also finished fourth at the tournament in the Big Bag event, securing a 20.44-pound string of redfish.
