Delinquent Louisiana taxpayers have the last chance for the next 10 years to pay their back-taxes owed to the Louisiana Department of Revenue before the end of the year.

The 2015 Louisiana Tax Amnesty Program will run its course with one last window of opportunity for individuals and business owners to pay their overdue taxes to the state from Nov. 16 through Dec. 15.

During the 30-day period, individual and business taxpayers are offered a fresh start to bring their delinquent tax accounts up to date by clearing unpaid tax bills and filing overdue state tax returns.

The 2015 Tax Amnesty Program is the third and final installment of the Louisiana Tax Delinquency Amnesty Act of 2013.

After this window closes, there will be no new amnesty program offered by the Department of Revenue before Jan. 1, 2025.

Amnesty is offered to qualifying taxpayers who apply during the amnesty period. Those who accept amnesty must agree to pay 100 percent of delinquent taxes, 83 percent of the remaining interest and 67 percent of the remaining penalties due.

Six-month installment plans are available for those who take advantage of the program.

Eligible taxpayers can apply online at www.ldrtaxamnesty.com or call 1-866-782-9241 for more information.
