Loyd Paul Savin, age 86, passed away surrounded by his loving family Thursday, Oct. 18, 2018. He was a native and resident of Chauvin.

Loyd is survived by his wife of 63 years, Joyce Marie Sevin Savin; daughters, Ethelyn “Wanda” Boquet and husband, Terry Sr., and Mary S. Gautreaux and husband, Adam Jr.; grandchildren, Amee’ Boquet and fiance, Hunter Tieken, Terry Boquet Jr. and wife, Victoria, Katie G. Callahan and husband, Logan, and Adam Gautreaux IV; and great-grandchildren, Aubrey Tieken and Aiden Boquet.


Loyd was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He served in the US Army during the Korean War for three years. He was a mail carrier for 25 years. He was a member and past president of the Woodman Life and Chauvin Lions Club. He was a member of the American Legion Post 380, Knights of Columbus third and fourth degree and the VFW. He was a former member of the T-Caillou Lions Club, Petit Caillou Carnival Club, TPR coach, St. Joseph Holy Name and National Association of Letter Carriers. Loyd was a loving, funny, caring and giving person. He did volunteer work for his community most of his life, especially since he retired in 1992. He was a bingo caller for many organizations since 1992. The most joy in his life was having his family sitting around his table. He also loved to go to the casinos and watch football. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
