The LSU men’s basketball team continues to get better and better even before their prized recruits report to campus

The Tigers beat Ole Miss 82-66 on Saturday, improving to 5-7 in SEC play.

The record may sound like a disappointment to some, but remember -the LSU basketball team was one of die worst teams in die country just last season, winning just a couple SEC games.


The Tigers also have the No 3 recruiting class in the country coming in before next season -a four-player group that has some of the top players in the country at every, single position.

“Itsa good win.” LSU first-year coach Will Wadesaid. “It’s hard to build a lead like that in the first half so give our guys credit for that. We didn’t close the first half very welL Poor, poor job on the backboards as usual. We did win an SEC game by 16 points so I guess that’s a good day.”

Against Ole Miss, post player Duop Reath dominated the Rebels, scoring 26 points on just 12 shots, which allowed the Tigers to build an early lead

LSU squandered that lead which sent the game to half tun? much to Wade’s dismay. But die Tigers collected themselves and dominated thesecond half, outscoring the Rebels 45-29 in the final 20 minutes to secure the dominant victory.

LSU is now 14-10 on the season. They faced Alabama on Mardi Gras with no score at press-time. They host Missouri on Saturday.
