Lynn Walter Hatch, 83, a resident of Terrebonne Parish, La., died at 1:35 p.m. on Thursday, September 1, 2016.


Mr. Hatch was a United States Marine veteran of the Korean War and retired from the Terrebonne Parish School District. Farming was his passion, and he was affectionately known as “The Plant Man” for his efforts and planting advice.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Claire Bergeron Hatch; son, Eric (Donna) Hatch; daughter, Debbie (Thomas) Cope; brother, Charles Hatch; sisters, Isabel (Gene) Parham, Molly (Thomas) Cantrelle, Katie Miller and Shirley Porrier; and five grandchildren.

Burial is at Bayou Black Cemetery in Houma.
