Jail inmate accused of rape dies after hanging

Mabel Nini Gilmore, 92, a native of Berwick, La., and a resident of Bourg, La., died on Sunday June 26, 2016.
Mrs. Gilmore was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church and the Ladies Altar Society. She dedicated her life to giving back, working with the Catholic Charity Program and coordinating the Meals on Wheels program in Bourg with the Terrebonne Council on Aging.
She is survived by her daughters, Phyllis (Malcolm) Boquet, Cindy (Wayne) Jones and Tammy Gilmore-Credeur; sons, Selwyn (Kathy) and Barry (June) Gilmore; sister, Annabell Nini Angeron; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren with one on the way.
Burial is at the St. Ann Cemetery in Bourg.
