Malcolm Joseph Chauvin, 86, a native of Mathews, Louisiana, and resident of Cut Off, Louisiana, died Monday, Jan. 5, 2015.


Mr. Chauvin was a carpenter, worked in maintenance at Sako Nursing Home and was a maintenance supervisor at St. Anne Hospital. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and building and flying remote airplanes.

He is survived by his sons, Larry (Randy), Donald (Sandra), Thomas (Vickie), Gary (Theresa) and Kevin (fiancee LeAnn Barron) Chauvin; daughters, Ramona (Stephen) Head, Phyllis (Gary) Champagne; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; brother, Henry Wilton Chauvin; and sisters, Earline Arabie, Theresa Dufrene and Marylouise Walker.

Burial is at St. Mary Cemetery in Raceland, Louisiana.
