Maria Elena Duplantis, 73, a native of Tuscon, Ariz., and resident of Houma, La., died Tuesday, May 26, 2015.
Mrs. Duplantis was a member of Grand Caillou Baptist Church. Among her hobbies and interests were sewing, cooking, floral designing and jewelry making.
She is survived by her parents, Jesus R. and Estela Dominguez Ojeda; husband, Jerry “Gary” Duplantis; sons, Jerry (Wanza) and Rodney (Theresa) Duplantis; daughter, Deborah (Deron) Bourg; brother, Jesus Ojeda Jr.; sisters, Olga Reney, Oralia Neman and Alicia Ojeda; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family request that contributions be made to the St. Jude Research Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
Burial is at Garden of Memories Cemetery. (Chauvin)
