Mavis Savoie Matherne, 80, a native of Cut Off, La., and resident of Bourg, La., died Saturday, Aug. 15, 2015.

Mrs. Matherne was a member of the Purple Angles of Bayou Blue Methodist Church and a parishioner of St. Ann Catholic Church in Bourg. She was retired and worked at the Clerk of Courts Office in Houma for 22 years.


She is survived by her husband of 61 years, F.J. Matherne; daughters, Christine (Stephen) Cantrelle and Carrie (Billy) Randolph; son, Eric (Michelle) Matherne; five grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and sisters, Judy Savoie and Susan LeFort.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in memory of Mrs. Matherne to the Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center at Terrebonne General Medical Center in Houma, La., or St. Ann Catholic Church in Bourg, La.

Burial is at Matherne Cemetery.
