Meryl Portier

Meryl Aline Rita Arceneaux Portier, age 88, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at 7:09 am. She was a native and resident of Houma

Meryl is survived by her sons, Benny P. Portier; Sr. and Jarred A. Portier; daughter, Susan P. Mabile and husband, Warren; grandchildren, Chastity Pitre and husband, Donny, Tasha Ryals and husband, Rory, Ben Portier, Jr. and wife, Katie, and Zachary Mabile; great-grandchildren, Carli” and Chole’ Pitre, Averie and Aubrie Ryals.

Meryl was a lifelong parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church where she was a Eucharistic Minister, a member of the Ladies Altar Society. CCD teacher, bereavement committee leader, office volunteer; and member of New Creation Music Ministry. She was a member of The Woodmen’s of the World and the Bayou Magnolias Homemakers club. She enjoyed eating with her friends at Bayou Delight vacationing on her bus tripe with friends and family, and going to grandchildren and great-grandchildren activities.
