Milton Paul Arabie, 85, a native of Mathews, La., and resident of Raceland, La., died on Monday, May 16, 2016.


Mr. Arabie graduated from Lockport High, LSU and Nicholls State. He served in the Army Artillery during the Korean War, and was a retired Lafourche teacher, coach and principal for 39 years. He served as the director of the Lafourche Parish Recreation District No. 2 for 43 years, was a past president of the Raceland Lions Club; a member of the Raceland American Legion Post No. 349; and a member of the Raceland VFW Post No. 3665; and past member of Raceland Grand Marshall Club.

He was survived by his wife of 58 years, Peggy Falgout Arabie; children: Michael (Regina), Mona (Randy) Zeringue, Mark (Lynette) and Matthew (Janet) Arabie; four grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great-grandchild; and brother, Edward Arabie.

Burial is at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
