Mrs. Eunice Pellegrin of Chauvin was diagnosed with stomach cancer in the year 2000. The doctors operated on her but they said the cancer was too far gone. They just closed her up and sent her home. She prayed the following prayer every day of her life. She died June 11, 2016 at the age of 86. It was indeed a miracle that she lived so long.

Heavenly Father,

I call on you right now in a special way. It is through your power that I was created. Every breath I take, every moment of every hour, I live under your power.

Father, I ask you now to touch me with that same power. For if you created me from nothing, you can certainly recreate me. Fill me with the healing power of your spirit. Cast out anything that should not be in me. Mend what is broken. Root out any unproductive cells. Open any locked arteries or veins and rebuild any damaged areas. Remove all inflammation and cleanse any infection.

Let the warmth of your healing love pass through my body to make new any unhealthy areas so that my body will function the way you created it to function. Father, restore me to full health in mind and body so that I may serve you the rest of my life.

I ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Eunice liked to write poems. Here are three of her simple but profound poems she wrote.

Poem 1: My God

My dear God, you really are in heaven above

For you, my heart overflows with love.

You are always there when I need you the most

Especially when I receive you in our Sacred Host.

You have answered my prayers in all different ways

So I know you’ll be here for the rest of my days.

All the stars in our heaven, when they shine at night,

I know you’re behind them, making them bright.

I don’t see you, I feel you, I know that you’re there.

Because when I pray, you do answer my prayers.

I wish the whole world would feel like I do, Oh what love and devotion they’d have for you.

And I know that sometimes things do go wrong,

Like the killings at war that lasted so long. If everyone would pray sincerely and often each day.

All the love and peace in the world would be here to stay.

When someone is unhappy and can’t take it too much,

Just pray to our God and you’ll feel his touch.

Yes “Our God,” it’s clear to see,

He belongs to everyone, not just to me.

Poem 2: A Walk in the Park

A walk in the park

The sight of a lark

The sound of water in a brook

A quiet evening with a good book.

The love of your children and the love of your mate.

Loving them always, don’t feel the hate.

To be able to see the clouds in the sky,

The wonders of birds flying so high.

The smell of a rose on a pleasant summer day.

The peace and contentment when you kneel to pray.

The friends in your life play a big part. So cherish and keep them close to your heart.

The sound of a beautiful bird that sings, The hail and the rain that heaven can bring.

The winter snow that fall so white, The summer sun that shines so bright.

Poem 3: A Touch of Love

A bell is no bell till you ring it,

A song is no song till you sing it.

Love in your hearts is not there to stay,

Love is not love, till you give it away.

So start ringing, and start singing and start loving today,

You find that happiness will be there to stay.
