Parfait latest TGMC Daisy recipient

Monica Parfait, RN, a staff nurse at Terrebonne General Medical Center, recently received the Daisy Award for Extraordinary Nurses.

Parfait’s outstanding professionalism and compassion while treating patients was cited in the award presentation. Patients and their families praised her “can-do” attitude and above-and-beyond care, delivered with a smile.


Attorney receives prestigious rating

Thibodaux attorney and business advocate Nicholas J. Zeringue, managing partner of Zeringue Law Group, has been awarded one of the legal industry’s most prestigious recognitions – Martindale-Hubbell’s rating of AV Preeminent.

Peers evaluate attorneys in the Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings. It is the highest peer-rating standard, signifying the lawyer’s peers rank him at the highest level of professional excellence for their legal knowledge, communication skills and ethical standards.

Oncale earns Realtor certification


Joni Oncale has been certified by the National Association of Realtors, and approved for their SFR, Short Sales & Foreclosures Resource designation.

The SFR designation requires that the Realtors complete both core classes and elective classes and pass a written examination with a high degree of accuracy in order to be approved and listed on www.realtor.org and www.realtor.com, and included in the SFR members-only networking site.

Oncale is a Realtor with Premiere Properties of the South.


Thornton joins DDG

Jessica Thornton has joined Thibodaux architectural firm DDG as business development representative.

A Nicholls State University graduate, Thornton holds a degree in marketing, and has worked in the business development field for 13 years in the public and private sectors. Her background includes outside sales for pharmaceutical and medical industries, political fundraising and, most recently, executive director of institutional advancement for Fletcher Technical Community College.


Gilmore joins TRMC active medical staff

Cardiovascular and thoracic surgeon Jared Gilmore III has joined Thibodaux Regional Medical Center’s staff.

Gilmore received his medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans. He completed his internship and residency there, and completed a fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery at Tulane University Medical Center. He is a member of Dr. Tommy Fudge’s practice in Thibodaux. Gilmore is board certified in cardiothoracic surgery by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a member of the Louisiana State Medical Society, American Medical Association and the Society of Thoracic Surgeons.


Daigle earns CIC nod

Edward Daigle, CIC, was recently recognized for professional leadership and advanced knowledge by the Society of Certified Insurance Counselors (CIC).

A member of USI Insurance Services LLC in Houma, Daigle was awarded a certificate marking more than 15 years of participation as a designated CIC. The designation requires annual completion of advanced education and training.


“Edward Daigle’s ongoing allegiance and support of the CIC Program is a testament to the value he places on ‘real world’ education and customer satisfaction,” said Dr. William T. Hold, CIC, CPCU, CLU, president of the Society of CIC.

AlMahameed joins TGMC, CIS staffs

Interventional cardiologist Amjad AlMahameed has joined the active medical staffs at Terrebonne General Medical Center and Cardiovascular Institute of the South.


Dr. AlMahameed is board certified in internal medicine, vascular medicine, cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology and endovascular medicine. He received his doctorate from Damascus University School of Medicine in Syria and completed a residency in internal medicine and fellowship in vascular medicine at the renowned Cleveland Clinic. He then accepted faculty appointment at the Cleveland Clinic and served as a vascular medicine consultant and director of vascular medicine research program.

Dr. AlMahameed also received a master’s degree in public health from the Cleveland Clinic – Cleveland State University joint program.

He received his general cardiology and interventional coronary and peripheral training at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center – Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts. In 2010, Dr. AlMahameed accepted faculty appointment at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center – Harvard Medical School and served as an interventional cardiologist and endovascular specialist. During this tenure, he was named director of the vascular medicine program, founding director of the vascular laboratory and founding director of the vascular disease management program, as well as co-director of the peripheral interventional program. Dr. AlMahameed also served as a consultant at Harvard Clinical Research Institute, and was also a clinical instructor at Harvard Medical School. He is also the recipient of several awards including the Cleveland Clinic’s senior resident of the year, Cleveland Clinic’s chief medical resident, and the chief cardiology fellow at Beth Israel Deaconess – Harvard Medical School.


Widely published, he has authored several book chapters in leading interventional, endovascular and cardiology textbooks. He is also a regular contributor to premier medical journals, and serves on the editorial board and as a reviewer to several prominent cardiovascular journals. He has presented his work and shared his expertise in numerous national and regional conferences, where he also was an effective organizer and leader.
