Nicholls to host book signing for Lafourche author today

Gheens native Clifton P. Theriot is signing copies of “Lafourche Parish” from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at the Nicholls State University Bookstore.

Theriot’s pictorial history book chronicles the towns and communities settled along Bayou Lafourche.

A graduate of Nicholls, Theriot is a descendent of Acadian and Islenos ancestors who settled in the Lafourche region in the 1700s. He is the university archivist and head of special collections at Nicholls. The Nicholls Bookstore is located inside the Bollinger Memorial Student Union on campus.
