Reilly A. Danos, 80, a native and resident of Cut Off, Louisiana, died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2015.


Mr. Danos is survived by his son, Joseph Danos; daughters, Wendy D. Welch and Kelly (David) Collins; brothers, James, Raymond and Russel Danos; sisters, Reba Adams, Barbara Hebert and Beverly Dufrene; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 6, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at noon, with burial to follow in the church cemetery (Samart-Mothe Funeral Home)

Serena Duet


Serena “So” T. Duet, 76, a native and resident of Galliano, Louisiana, died Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015.

Mrs. Duet is survived by her sons, Allen, Glenn and Darrel “Wookie” Duet; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and sister, Arlene Nunez.

Larry J. Collins, 65, a native of Golden Meadow, Louisiana, and resident of Lock-port, Louisiana, died Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015.

Delia Josephine Marcel, 88, died at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 30, 2015, peacefully at her home.

Mrs. Marcel was a parishioner of Holy Rosary Church. She always put others first. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Henry Marcel; sons, Ken (Janelle) and Buddy (Nancy) Marcel; daughters: Ellen (Eddie) LeBlanc and Gina Marcel; 13 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.

Nhuan Thi Vuong, 77, a native of Vietnam and a resident of Raceland, Louisiana, died Thursday, Jan. 29, 2015.

Mrs. Thi Vuong is survived by her husband, Vincent Nghi Bui; sons, the Rev. Francis Bui, Sam Dinh Bui, Ben Nam Bui and Thomas Viet Bui; daughters, Theu Thi Bui, Huong Thi Bui, Trang Thi Bui, Trinh Thi Bui and Meagan Hue Bui; 29 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13, and 8 to 9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, at Nu Vuong Rat Thanh Man Coi at 3593 Friendswood Drive in Houma. Nelma “Taunt Do Do” Gordon, 88, a native and resident of Cut Off, Louisiana, died Thursday, Jan. 29, 2015.


Mrs. Gordon was a member of Eastern Star for 60 years. She worked actively for Bayou Bell Ringers, loved traveling, casinos and playing bingo.

She is survived by her son, James Gordon; daughters, Lillie Gordon and Patricia (Blaine) Dardar; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Dolores Boudreaux

Dolores Marie Chauvin Boudreaux, 85, a native and resident of Houma, Louisiana, died at 12:25 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2015.


Mrs. Boudreaux was a parishioner of St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church. She enjoyed volunteering at the Terrebonne General Medical Center.

He is survived by her sons, Jerry Jr. (Andree) and Glynn Boudreaux; daughter, Diane (Doug) Bass; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Mr. Cheramie was a graduate of Northwestern State University, where he played football and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Willie Britten, 65, a native and resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and a former resident of Thibodaux, Louisiana, died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2015.

Mr. Britten was a former employee of Avondale Shipyard and Trac Work Inc.


He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Britten; son, Justin Britten; daughter, Terika (Dwayne) Hester; stepson, Tremayne Johnson; five brothers; and three sisters.

Valerie A. Cheramie, 59, a native and resident of Cut Off, Louisiana, died Monday, Jan. 26, 2015.

Mrs. Cheramie loved to crochet. On the day of her passing, the family’s newest member, Adalee Grace, received a hat and pair of booties handmade by Mrs. Cheramie.

Steve Dubois

Steve J. Dubois, 65, a native of Chauvin, Louisiana, died at his home Sunday, Jan. 25, 2015.

Mr. Dubois was a commercial fisherman before retiring. He enjoyed spending time with family, fishing and playing with his dog, Tiny.


He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Gail Boquet Dubois; daughters, Katrina (Jonathan) Billiot and Dorothy Ladd; sons, Beau (Sadie), Leroy (Trisha) and Christopher Dubois and Joseph Buquet; 11 grandchildren; and a host of other relatives.

Felix McElroy

Felix Paul McElroy died at 4:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015.

Mr. McElroy served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War. A Master Plumber for most of his life, he was an extremely hard worker who helped anyone in need. He enjoyed practical jokes, loved to dance, laugh and fish.

Louise Martin


Louise Martin, 95, born in Graysport, Mississippi, and resident of Alexandria, Louisiana, died Friday, Jan. 23, 2015, at Rapides Regional Hospital in Alexandria, following a brief illness.

Mrs. Martin was a Larose elementary school teacher for 30 years. She was a member of the Lafourche and the Louisiana Retired Teachers’ Associations and a member of Delta Kappa Gamma.

Louise had lived in Larose for 41 years, was a charter member of First Baptist Church and taught Sunday school there. In 1996, she and her husband moved to Alexandria where she became a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. There she was a facilitator of the Women on Mission Esther Bible Study group for nine years.

Nettie May Mazeres Boudreaux, 83, a native of New Orleans, Louisiana, and resident of Schriever, Louisiana, died Friday, Jan. 23, 2015.

Mrs. Boudreaux enjoyed spending her time crocheting, knitting, and needle pointing and did absolutely beautiful work.

Mrs. Boudreaux is survived by her husband of 64 years, Carol Ray Boudreaux; children, Shirleen (Lyle) Trabeaux, Allen (Sue) Boudreaux, Gwen Owens, David (Luci) Boudreaux, Danielle Boudreaux and Ronald (Janet) Boudreaux; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Leverta Hines and Wanda Ketner; and brother, Reggie Mazeres.
