TIPS FOR INTERIOR PAINTING

Painting your walls yourself can be a fun but time-consuming project. Be sure you have everything you need before you get started. The following tips will help your DYI not need 9-1-1!

1. Mix several cans of paint together in a large backet for consistent color. Shades can vary slightly from can to can. If you know your project requires multiple cans, combine for a consistent color.

2. Clean, prime and fix your walls before you begin. Paint cannot form a bond with a dirty surface! Yon will end up with bubbles and paint that peels. Fill in any holes from nails and sand the surface smooth..

3. Paint your trim first. You don’t have to be meat! Most professionals follow this order: trim, ceiling, walls.

4. Paint in dry weather. Humidity in the air takes longer for paint to dry.

5. Splurge on the proper tools. You didn’t bay cheap paint; why use cheap brashes? Use good rollers with a thick nap for complete coverage. You will use less paint and need fewer coats.
