Voters residing within the Thibodaux city limits, and those in South Lafourche, will also consider council and port commission candidates on the Nov 6 ballot.

Three members of the Thibodaux City Council face opponents.

Former Nicholls Stale University Finance Officer Mike Naquin, (R). is challenging long-tune Councilman Lloyd “Chip” Badeaux (R). for the District D At-large Council-Seat.


In District A, Gretchen Caillouet. (No Party), is challenging Eric Tabor, (R). who will complete his first term on the city council

Call bust is a former Lafourche Parish Economic Dev Director and Grants Coordinator, also former First Lady of Thibodaux.

In District C. the city’s minarily district, Lafourche NAACP President Burnell Tolbert (D), is challenging Constance Williams, who has served for two terms representing Council District C.

Williams is a former Lafourche School Board Member, and is director of the nonprofit Cirde of B.O.P.E. – which stands for Helping Other People Excel.


Elsewhere in Thibodaux. Mayor Tommy Eachete. (No Party), has been re-elected to a third term, as he had no opposition during qualifying last week.

Also re-elected is Chad Mire. (No Party), District E At-large Councilman, and Gene Richard, (R), District B Council-man

Meanwhile, down the bayou, voters will chose to re-elect or opt for a new face on the Greater Lafourche Port Commission.


In Division B. Perry Comeaux, (No Party), is challenging Perry Giaclair, (D), longtime commission member and president of the commission.

In Division C, Jimmy “T-Jim” Lafont,(R), is challening “Kris” Gaudet, (R). incumbent and long-time commission member.

In Division G. Dickey “Radar” Cheranue, (D), and Bob Duet (No Party), are challenging John “T John” Melancom, (R), commission incumbent and treasurer.


In Division H, two contenders will vy for the seat one held by Jimmy Guidry – Francis Brace (R), and Charles “Mike” Callais, (No Party).

And in Division I, two contenders will also vy for that seat, once held by Randy Adams, interim commissioner; Kris Callais. (R) and Andrew Martin,(D).

Additionally, these port commissioners were re-elected without opposition:


Harris “Chuckie” Cheramie, (D), Division A; Rodney Gisclair Sr, (R), Division D; Curtis “Tompuss” Pierce, (R), Division E; and Larry Griffin, (D). Division F.
