Bright skies and warm, but not unbearable temperatures greeted hundreds of runners who turned out on Saturday afternoon for the 15th-Annual Terrebonne General Medical Center Community Sports Institute Terrebonne Foundation for Academic Excellence Run for Excellence.

The race took place in downtown Houma, and event organizers tout that the event went off without a hitch. Richard Bouckaert and Tankhahn Labat won the men’s and women’s races.

Bouckaert is a high school running coach. He showed his pupils that he can cut the mustard when he completed the course in 16-minutes, 18-seconds. That time was 27 seconds better than Brandon Wingate, who finished the race with a time of 16-minutes, 45-seconds. Nate Castillo finished third with a time of 17-minutes, 48-seconds.

Labat finished with a time of 20-minutes, 47-seconds – almost two and a half minutes of her top challenger, Stephanie McNabb, who finished the race in 23-minutes, 9-seconds. Lacey Homer placed third just 18 seconds behind.

Below are the results of the race, which featured close to 1,000 runners total.
