Dear Editor,

It is a hard time to be a child right now in America. There are peer pressures, academic pressures and violence all around the world.

I am the mother of two children and I know that I wake up every, single day hoping and wishing that my babies get the love that they need — both from me and from everyone else around the world.

I was writing today to personally thank The Times and all of its staff for its weekly Player of the Week Series.

It is a wonderful thing to see good news in the newspaper and to see some of the great talents that these incredibly gifted young people have.

I buy your paper every, single week just to see the new winner and to see the wonderful things that he/she has accomplished.

From my family to yours, I want to thank you for committing yourself to the kids in the community.

Its not easy to feel good about yourself as a kid in 2016.

But you guys sure have a way of giving young people a sense of worth and self-pride and that is a service that the community should not overlook.

Kudos to you all on a job very, very well done!
