Rita Mae Porche, 82, a native and resident of Houma, La., died at 8:30 a.m. Monday, March 23, 2015.


Mrs. Porche was a parishioner of Maria Immacolata Catholic Church. She volunteered at the food and medicine banks. She was a devoted volunteer and parishioner of Maria Immacolata Church. She was a member of Woodmen of the World. She was a cancer survivor and Relay For Life volunteer.

She is survived by her children, Peggy (Rene) Bergeron, Kenneth (Dorothy) Porche, Ricky (David Jumonville) Porche, Gale Pellegrin, Denise (Andrew) Stewart; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Norman Marcel, Junell Marcel, Louis Marcel, Louise Porche, Kurt Marcel, and Alice Clark.

Interment is at St. Louis Catholic Church Cemetery.
