Robert “Bess” Cheramie Sr., 80, a native of Golden Meadow, La., and resident of Cut Off, La., died Saturday, May 2, 2015.
Mr. Cheramie was a songwriter and loved sports, drawing, crafting, fishing and bowling. For 34 years, he and his twin brother were known as the “Chain Gang,” holding the down markers for various football games.
He is survived by his wife of more than 59 years, Hazel Felarise Cheramie; son, Robert (Kenolyn) Cheramie Jr.; daughters, Trudy (Aaron Sr.) Danos and and Tina (fiance Mitch Smith) Cheramie; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Burial is at Cheramie Cemetery in Galliano.
