Roland Paul “Red” Portier, 81, a native and resident of Houma, La., died on Saturday, August 5, 2017.
Mr. Portier served in the United States Army for two years. He loved cooking, making swings and other wood crafts.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Eunice Sevin Portier; children, Roland (Betty) Portier Jr. and Lisa (Brian) St. Laurent; siblings, Daniel (Jane), Otis Jr. (Anita) and Gilbert (Gloria) Portier, Marion Eschete and Linda (Ivy) Courteaux; step-siblings, Robert, Gene, Harry, Patty and Cyril Portier Jr.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A private service will be held at a later date.
