Ronald “Digger” Paul Songe, 52, a native of Houma, La., and resident of Gray, La., died at 2:55 a.m. on Friday, June 24, 2016, after a three-year fight against cancer.


Mr. Songe was a parishioner of St. Thomas Aquinas. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, frogging, camping and cooking. He also enjoyed to spend time with his family on vacations. He worked in the oilfield and ended his career as a consultant.

He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Alison Waguespack Songe; parents, Henry and Doris Rogers Songe; son, Ross (Kristi) DeRoche; daughters, Tayla Mae and Katelynn Songe; and sister, Roslyn (Wyatt) Savoie.

Burial is at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
