Roy J. Laurent Sr., 89, a native of New Orleans, La., and resident of Montegut, La., died at 4 p.m. on Monday, January 9, 2017.
Mr. Laurent served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a carpenter and loved fishing, cooking, baking and being with family and friends.
He is survived by his sons, Roy (Carol) Jr. and Charles (Linda) Laurent; daughter, Jocelyn Laurent; brother, Leslie Cazaubon; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Burial is at Terrebonne Memorial Park Cemetery in Houma.
