There was a tropical depression in the Gulf of Mexico at press-time on Monday afternoon.

Though not expected to make landfall in Louisiana, check HoumaTimes.com throughout the week to stay up to date on any changes that might be coming in local weather.

At press-time, Tropical Depression Nine was located just north of Cuba’s northwestern tip and was spinning westward in the Gulf of Mexico at 6 mph.

Computer models at press-time agreed that the storm will continue on a westward track before being lifted eastward by a cold front.

The front, forecasters say, will cause the storm to make landfall somewhere in Florida.

At press-time on Monday, the National Hurricane Center didn’t expect Louisiana to be affected by a tropical system in the Gulf.
