Stella Z. Gilbert, 94, a native of Lancaster, New York, and resident of Raceland, Louisiana, died Sunday, Dec. 28, 2014.


Mrs. Gilbert was a Rosie the Riveter during World War II. She volunteered at Niagara Lutheran Home and Trinity Old Lutheran Church, and was a member of the Buffalo Area Chapter of the American Theater Organ Society.

She is survived by her daughter, Joyce Gilbert; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and sister, Nellia Molea.

Burial is at St. Mary Cemetery in Raceland.
