A 19-year-old Houma man is accused of severely injuring a 4-month-old child that wouldn’t stop crying.


On Jan. 30, Houma Police officers responded to Terrebonne General Medical Center in reference to a call of child abuse.

During investigation, authorities learned that a 4-month-old child was taken to TGMC and treated for severe injuries to the head.

As the investigation continued, HPD learned that the injuries were a result of abuse caused by Takoda Naquin, 19, of Jackson Street. Authorities said the child was in Naquin’s custody on Jackson Street while the mother was away.


The child kept crying and Naquin allegedly lost his temper and caused the injuries to the baby.

Later in the day, HPD located Naquin and took him into custody.

He is charged with second-degree cruelty of a juvenile and taken to the Terrebonne Jail.


Takoda Naquin, 19, of Jackson Street, is accused of causing injuries to a small baby in his care because it wouldn’t stop crying. which allegedly caused him to lose his temper. Naquin was arrested by the Houma Police Department and charged with second-degree cruelty of a juvenile. He is being held in the Terrebonne Parish Jail.
