Three suspects are in the custody of the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office for their alleged roles in an armed robbery, which also netted attempted murder charges.

During the early morning hours of March 8, 2018, a man reportedly drove himself to the hospital after receiving injuries during a robbery.

An investigation into the incident yielded that for a few days prior, the man bad been exchanging messages with Amber Scott, 32, of Thibodaux, who allegedly invited the victim over that night.

When the victim arrived, Cody Dantin, 30, of Thibodaux was allegedly there holding a rifle and another man wearing a mask was allegedly holding an aluminum baseball bat.

The masked man, who was later identified as Preston Law, 36, of Gray, began striking the victim with the bat, while Dantin pointed the firearm at him.

Dantin and Law allegedly stole the victim’s cell phone, shoes and wallet, which contained cash. They also made statements indicative of a desire to kill the victim during the alleged beating.

The victim eventually escaped the suspects and got to his vehicle to get assistance at the hospital.

As investigation continued, authorities obtained warrants for Dantin and Scott for attempted first-degree murder and armed robbery.

Once Law was identified as the third man, warrants were also issued for him.

Deputies found Dantin hiding under his residence on March 21, 2018, taking him into custody on the above-stated charges.

That same day, authorities also made contact with Law and took him into custody.

Last week on March 30, Scott was located by authorities in St. Charles Parish and she was taken into custody.

She was booked into the St. Charles Parish Nelson Coleman Correctional Center and she remains there awaiting transfer to Lafourche Parish.

Her bond has been set at over $4 million.

All of the suspects in the remain in police custody press-time on Monday afternoon.
