1. CENTRAL LAFOURCHE: The Trojans clobbered South Terrebonne early before settling into a two-touchdown win. Central Lafourche keeps chugging along, setting up a rivalry date with South Lafourche on Friday night.

2. H.L. BOURGEOIS: I am so proud of the H.L. Bourgeois football team. After being buried in a rut for the past decade, the Braves have finally found an identity, opening the season with three-straight wins. Now the battle starts. District play is here.

3. THIBODAUX: The Tigers have athletes galore up and down their depth chart. All it took was a little time for everything to sizzle. Thibodaux had their way with South Lafourche on Friday night, rushing for more than 400 yards in victory.

4. TERREBONNE: Losing to Assumption isn’t any cause for concern. That’s a pretty good football team out there. But like H.L. Bourgeois, Terrebonne’s challenge is the same: How does one find a steady stream of victories in a district that is loaded with tough competition? Friday’s game with Thibodaux is a huge one for both teams.

5. E.D. WHITE: E.D. White is within a few bounces of the ball away from being 3-0. But as it stands, the Cardinals are 1-2 and are left wondering what might have been. Don’t sleep on E.D. White just yet.
